On Saturday, April 13, Bloomington High School South held its 8th annual six-hour dance marathon to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children. Over the past seven years, South raised almost $260,000, and this year the school broke its record and raised a total of $70,029.31. Like IUDM, all of the proceeds go to the Ryan White Infectious Disease Center at Riley. South’s marathon mirrors IUDM; the dancers and committee members stand for those who can’t by spending time dancing, listening to music, playing games, and hearing stories of Riley families. South raises money from canning, donations, dancer registration fees, apparel sales, and food percentage nights.
